2017 Summer Camp Scholarship update: Our beloved domestic violence, child protection, and homeless outreach partners are already reaching out for children in their care. So far (as of June 10, 2017), we have approved $57,845 in camp scholarships for the 2017 summer camp season, enabling 13 children to attend 75 weeks of camp at 4 different camps, 49 weeks of which are for overnight camp. THANK YOU!

2016 and Annual Appeal: Many people have told us how much they enjoyed reading our 2016 year-end summary. So far we have raised $14,430.15, including $546.80 from six brand new donors (thank you!) We will update these numbers periodically. As a comparison, in 2015, we received $28,529.29 in year-end donations, including $1,293.60 from brand new first-time donors. Our 2015 campaign yielded the most we've ever raised in a year-end campaign - thank you!!! One hundred percent of every dollar donated goes directly to supporting summer camp scholarships for children who are homeless, exposed to violence or refugees. Since SGF is a 501(c)3 public charity, your gift is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law and will be acknowledged accordingly.

2017 Circle of Remembrance and Strength: The annual Circle of Remembrance took place as usual on April 27 at 6 pm, in front of Oak Hill Middle School. We invite you to downoad and print your own personal copy of the We Remember booklet.

SGF is an Amazon Smile participant!

Once you register with Amazon Smile and designate SGF as your preferred charity, 0.5% of your purchase goes to SGF as a donation. As of May 2017, we have raised $397.53 through this program. Although this new system generates less money than the old "referral fee" idea, it is certain, guaranteed and provides needed funds for SGF.

Steve Glidden Foundation

Steve Glidden was one of the four Newton school children lost in the April 27, 2001 bus crash in Canada. In his memory, Steve’s family has created the Steve Glidden Foundation, dedicated to community, enrichment and leadership for youth.

The mission of the Steve Glidden Foundation is to realize the unfulfilled promise of Steve’s life, to honor his enthusiastic and generous spirit, and to preserve his memory as a blessing to all, by creating, promoting and supporting charitable projects that embody the values that guided Steve’s brief but very full life.
