2026 Circle of Remembrance

Marking the sad milestone of the 25th anniversary of the crash that took the lives of Steve Glidden, Kayla Rosenberg, Greg Chan, and Melissa Leung, we will come together in community for the 2026 Circle of Remembrance on Monday April 27, 2026 at 6 pm Eastern time. The format will be both in-person at Oak Hill Middle School and also virtually –  livestreamed through YouTube by local TV station NewTV and simultaneously on Zoom.

YouTube: Use this link to view the livestream in real time (the livestream turns into a recorded video once the Circle has concluded): https://www.youtube.com/live/ZlXd0lN2VZ0

Zoom: Log on to the Zoom if you think you might want to participate by speaking, singing, or in some other way: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/85779008330?pwd=BnqmUxTIgWmC3pDpiaEnyJPMjb0R32.1. You probably won’t need it but just in case, the Meeting ID is 857 7900 8330 and the Passcode is 665537.

If you log on to the Zoom, please follow basic Zoom etiquette: Make sure you mute yourself and remain muted unless you would like to say or sing something. And please mute yourself again once you have finished speaking.

If you need tech support during the Circle, text Bill at 617-733-1599. Bill (and the rest of us) will do what we can, given our limitations of a) not being Zoom pros, b) trying to incorporate a Zoom option without a big screen, and c) understanding that each Circle is organic and different, so something new will almost undoubtedly come up!

In addition to remembering Steve, Kayla, Melissa and Greg, there are many others whose memories are cherished. The Circle also acknowledges those who are ill or in harm’s way, or who may be in our hearts, thoughts, or prayers for any number of reasons.

If you are unable to join the Circle, please don’t hesitate to send along a letter, note, email or text to be read out by a friend or one of us (you can reach us by email at sgf@stevegliddenfoundation.org).

Over the years, we have compiled people’s favorite passages into a booklet entitled “We Remember.” The latest version of this booklet can be accessed by clicking here.

Even if you are not planning to participate in the Circle this year, please take a moment to pause, reflect and remember Steve, Kayla, Melissa, Greg, and others whom we dearly wish were still here with us, to think about how to help those who need our love and support, and to thank our first responders, care providers, teachers, and leaders from all walks of life for all they do for our community.

With deep gratitude to Eugene Foygelman of NewTV who will be operating the livestream camera,  Scott Stettner (Elaine’s cousin and Zoom host), Cantor Ellen Stettner (also Elaine’s cousin) who will lead us in singing the mi shebeirach, Principal John Hartunian of Oak Hill Middle School, Newton Mayor Mark Laredo, Newton’s treasured school personnel, our first responders, many heartbroken volunteers, and everyone else near and far who have helped us and the other families through the last quarter century,
