As of June 27, 2026, SGF has approved $63,630 in summer camp scholarships to enable 16 children to attend a total of 68 weeks of summer camp (21 of which are in overnight camps). We are expecting an influx of additional applications over the next few weeks. Thus far, our “2026 kids” are headed for a great time in three different camps (Building Bridges Through Music’s Summer Smart Education Through Music Program in Lynn, MA, Winona Camps for Boys in Bridgton, Maine and the Waltham YMCA summer camp).

To date, SGF has awarded a grand total of $1,587,284.67 in summer camp scholarships to 834 children. That means we have crossed (and then some) a major threshold, having awarded well over a million and a half dollars since we began in 2001! Not so shabby for a tiny little all-volunteer charity with no paid staff and no fixed office space!
