I am so moved by SGF’s basic goal of providing healing summer camp experiences to kids who really need it. Your continuing grass-roots focus makes such a difference to individual lives, and I love supporting your work to the extent I can.
Thank you so much to SGF for making it possible for one of our students to attend our summer camp this year. This student had just arrived from Uganda in June to join her mother here in the US. Her mother was in the hospital in June. It was not an easy transition for the student. Having the opportunity to learn guitar and make friends in a loving and supportive camp community made all the difference. When I asked her what she loved about camp, she said “It was so great. I liked it so much because the kids and everyone there was so friendly. I am so proud that I learned guitar.”
The Camp Winona family has deep loving memories of Steve. His joy is relived every summer through boys laughing along the camp paths. I am also grateful for all the other ways SGF is caring for people. Thank you for all you do.
